During the period I hold the role as Technical Product Manager at the Strategic Planning Unit within Ericsson. I was responsible for development of "IMSREF System", a Quality Assurance product to increase QA within development & verification on the products Ericsson provides to its customers. Using modern project methodologies like agile and scrum the work involves handling requirements, product & release planning, roadmap development, product lifecycle, marketing, presenting to customers, and leading change of new Ways of Working. I was also as part of Strategic Planning contributing with innovations to lead Ericsson in the way of being at the top of their business. This lead to at 2009 being part of the final top 5 of new promising innovations and also filing of patents.

Previous that I held the position as I&V Solution Team Leader in multiple areas like Telephony Services (MMTel), Charging, and Presence for mainly IMS wireless products (Push-To-Talk), but also performing feasibility studies on IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) projects. Some of the experience that I have got out of this is an increasingly stronger feeling for the leadership role since it has given me the opportunity to take part of the planning to make the work more efficient, and most of all giving encouragement and confidence to the people I have been working with.

The role as Integration and Verification (I&V) Tester in the R&D area of Ericsson was a role with an in-depth focus on technical aspects such as test methodology, details of communication protocols and troubleshooting. The work included test and verification of software such as CSCF, HSS, PGM, MRFC, MRFP, PTT-AS, Offline/Online charging using multiple test tools and analyzers to assure quality before customer deliveries.

I joined the Hutchinson Whampoa owned mobile operator 3 (Hi3G Access) in Sweden when it was just starting up. That has meant building up from scratch one of the first 3G operators in the world market. The role as a Mobile and IP engineer in the Network Operations Centre (NOC) included troubleshooting and integrating equipment such as MSC/VLR, HLR, Core PS, Core CS, SS7/IP protocol-analysis, IP Core Backbone, GSN, Cisco Router/Switches, Firewalls, UTRAN, and Sun/HP UNIX and Windows2000 Servers. This also included develop and maintaining troubleshooting guidelines, instructions, methods and routines. In co-operation with the engineering department and Back office, as NOC 2nd Line you were responsible for providing support and training to other NOC staff members. When needed the role as technical co-ordinator leading network quality, or problem investigations in close contact with vendors were also an important task. I am devoted to educating others, which mean that I often take a role as tutor and advisor to my colleagues, something I enjoy very much.

My contribution at Ericsson Telecom gave me experience in the R&D area of Ericsson Engine Access Ramp. Within the System and Verification division I was responsible for interoperability issues between the Engine Access Ramp (DSLAM) and other vendor products. This included inter- operability testing covering all from performance to detailed protocol problems and also demonstrations, both domestic and abroad. I had the responsibility of the test lab with total End-to-End solution with e.g. IP routers, network analyzers VPN modems. I was also, as an Ericsson representative, involved in the DSL Forum activities regarding standard specifications of how to test DSL technologies. This work meant writing technical documentation that increased Ericsson development quality. During the time I was employed, Ericsson was introducing RUP as a new project method to replace the Waterfall method that was the current standard. For this work I was part of the steering group to realize the major change that it meant for people and projects.

At MCI WorldCom I worked with the WorldCom/UUNET Scandinavian- and International Network, with Operations & Maintenance. This included troubleshooting techniques such as PDH, SDH, DWDM, ATM, IP-routers and Frame Relay using Network Management Platforms such as HP Open View and Cisco Works. I had a role that meant close contact with customers, and their focus was a high priority all through the work. Since the work was based on a 24/7 shift schedule, I have had experienced the stress and what affect that could have on the ability to make proper decisions when needed. I was seen as a highly co-operative team player with organisational skills. I always try to optimise processes that I come in contact with and make them more effective and appreciate working with competent co-workers as it gives me chance to learn even more.
