My job is to ensure that the new programme, BSc Nurse Anesthesia is run successfully. Recruit lecturer and retain them, mobilise and maintain resources and ensure the critical care service at the teaching hospital is run properly. Due to the shortage of anesthetist in Ghana and the migration of nurse anesthetists to persue degree programs in other specialties since the country lacked a career progression for them, the university for Development Studies took it upon itself to develop a BSc nurse anesthesia programme to enable nurse anesthetists to acquire a degree in their chosen field and stay in the profession. This programme is designed to strengthen. The knowledge and skills of the diploma nurse anesthetist to enable them handle critical cases in their facilities since the very few consultants in the country.
