Conducted qualitative and quantitative analytical chemistry analyses on GCWW drinking water samples using EPA and OEPA methods and regulations in the organic laboratory.

Performed qualitative and quantitative analytical chemistry analyses on MSDGC’s wastewater treatment plant’s samples using EPA and Ohio EPA methods and regulations in the wet chemistry and nutrient laboratories.

Conducted a study comparing the effectiveness of the disinfectants Peracetic Acid (PAA) to Sodium Hypochlorite (NaOCl). In order for MSDGC to get approval from USEPA to switch to the disinfectant PAA tests must be performed onsite at the Mill Creek Treatment Plant. Switching to PAA would be more cost effective for the plant and more environmentally friendly for the Mill Creek, which flows into the Ohio River.

Field Trip Instructor for grades 4-6 educating students about Wetlands and Storm Drains.

Coordinate and lead educational programs in Hamilton County classrooms. Also, maintain records and other administrative responsibilities.

Conducted public education and outreach events. Developed, designed, and created new public education event displays and games.

Provide technical and marketing assistance to field personnel and customers by optimizing methods and conducting experiments that produce application notes for the VOC product line. Participate as an ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor.

Maintained and operated the weather center, funded by USGS and US EPA. Collected atmospheric chemistry data in compliance with the Clean Air Act as part of the National Atmospheric Deposition Program.

As a key member of the project team, I helped to develop recommendations for a comprehensive stormwater community outreach program in accordance to the EPA’s NPDES Phase II permit for the City of Oxford

Developed regulatory effluent toxicology testing procedures and conducted experiments on larval and embryonic fishes. Collaborating with an international team, the focus of the study was to enhance alternative strategies for assessing effluent toxicity testing. Worked with supervisor to plan work priorities and needs. Also, supervised and trained 3 student employees.

Conducted field surveys, on a grant funded project with a team, for freshwater mussels including hand sampling, species identification, pit tag reading, brailing, electrofishing, and stream habitat measurements. Worked in the field for long hours in all weather conditions.

Conducted linear bank vegetation measurements, cross section transects of vegetation and substrate, invertebrate sampling with dip net, seining, and stable isotope collection for a food webs study in Ash Meadows National Wildlife Refuge in Amargosa Valley, Nevada.

Conducted maintenance of the tanks and care of live organisms, including fish, mussels, and aquatic invertebrates. Learned husbandry skills and the USEPA freshwater acute and chronic standard effluent toxicity methods.
