Supervisor - Procurement Leads a team responsible for creating strategic value for Procurement spend of materials and/or services across PSE. Oversees all Category Management and Strategic Sourcing activities for a wide portfolio of direct and indirect procurement categories. Provides guidance and expertise on procurement strategies and programs to ensure the best cost and quality of materials, equipment and/or services. Manages the relationship with the business units to understand needs and sell the services of Procurement that add value. Team Categories Managed: IT, Shared Services, Corporate Services.

Responsible for managing spend for moderately complex / critical categories of goods and/or services. Partners with internal business stakeholders to develop multi-year category vision and strategy based on the data, insights and business requirements. Utilizes strategic sourcing process to execute the category plans to deliver value through holistic approach to supplier selection - Delivery, Quality, Service, Cost and Innovation. Leads Sourcing RFx events (e.g. Request for Proposal (RFP), Request for Quote (RFQ), auction, etc.) according to the agreed Sourcing Strategy; directly manages communications with suppliers and stakeholders throughout. Procures commodities, services and awards purchase orders and contracts in a fast paced environment based upon internal customer needs and schedules. Maintains strong understanding of category dynamics (current market, pricing, cost drivers, industry and supplier variables) through trade groups, publications, etc. Manages the relationship with the business units to understand needs and sell the services of Procurement that add value.

Category Group Lead for Power Generation  Architect a Category Strategy to optimize leverage with targeted supplier segments driving value through risk mitigation, increased competition and stronger supplier relationships  Negotiation of contract terms and conditions with suppliers and consult with other department stakeholders to ensure compliance and consistency with corporate risk tolerances and management policies as well as documentation of contemporaneous prudence  Managed indirect spend for Power Plant operations (wind, hydro and natural gas asset divisions) including: Facilities, MRO, IT, Engineering, Consulting, Construction & Environmental Services  Management and facilitation of complex competitive bid solicitations among cross-functional teams including Plant Technical Services Engineering, Risk Management, Legal and Power Plant Generation groups with annual performance metrics tied to cost savings and safety goals  Facilitate vendor performance evaluations for strategically identified vendors to improve internal processes as well as develop mutually beneficial partnerships with suppliers focused on collaboration, transparency and trust  Developed and lead monthly process improvement meetings with Buyer Team to ensure consistency to customer groups and foster team cohesiveness

Buyer for the Materials division of Purchasing. Commodities included: tools, safety equipment, underground vaults, telecom, lighting, signs, labels Lateral move July 2011 to Services/Contracts division of Purchasing supporting PSE's fleet of power generation assets.
