Amya Henley

Amya Henley is a mathematics major at Spelman College with a passion for photography and capturing the energy of sports and live events through media. She currently serves as Media Lead for the Morehouse College House of Funk Marching Band, a photographer for the Morehouse College Maroon Tiger, and a Creative Intern with Georgia State Athletics, focusing on sports photography, videography, and social media storytelling. In addition, Amya holds positions on multiple executive boards at Spelman College in media-related roles, where she contributed to creative projects, digital content, and the campus storytelling initiatives. Her experience spans game-day coverage, Crowd shots, action photography, and studio shoots. She has also gained opportunities to work with organizations such as the Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta Vibe Pro Volleyball Team, further developing her skills in fast-paced, high-pressure environments. Amya is driven by a desire to tell compelling stories through her lens, using photography and media to highlight the confidence, creativity, and energy of the people and teams she captures. She aims to leverage he skills and experience to pursue a professional career as a sports photographer.
