As a Clinical Nurse II, I have; -Participated in both unit based and hospital wide committees to advance my knowledge in the newest practices and education in the benefits of human milk/breast feeding in the neonate. -Obtained my NRP, ACLS, BRN and Pediatric IV Insertion certifications. -Continued to educate parents of my patients and support their new role in the NIICU. As I continue my career, I plan on learning and completing the following tasks within 1-2 years. I plan to; -Further my knowledge and education in extra corporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) in the neonate to specialize and become certified in patient care for this particular population of patients -Continue to seek out new learning opportunities whenever possible -Eventually further my education to receive a masters degree for the advanced practice nurse

At Drexel, I received a unique intentional five year cooperative education which allowed me to obtain a year and a half of full time clinical experience as an undergrad while working part time during class. I spent my clinical time specializing in pediatric medicine, which has always been a passion of mine, at the nationally ranked Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. It was here that I dedicated myself for four years to the Newborn/Infant Intensive Care Unit, ranked #1 in the country by numerous publications. The family centered approach to patient care, advancements in technology and dedication to patient safety are only a few of the reasons that set this unit and hospital apart amongst the rest.
