Amrita Chowdhury is Co-Founder & CEO of Gaia, an information and analytics SaaS company providing deep learning solutions and digital transformation advisory for cities, government, and enterprises. She serves as an independent non executive director on the public listed Boards of Simmonds Marshall, Nesco, Mahindra Lifespace Developers, and ZF Commercial Vehicle Control Systems India. She serves on the subsidiary Boards of Mahindra World City Jaipur, Mahindra Industrial Park Chennai, Mahindra World City Developers, Mahindra Homes. She was previously President & CEO of DY Works (Future Group); Country Head South Asia for Harlequin (News Corp); Associate Director, Education for Harvard Business School (HBS). She has done Board assessment and strategy consulting with AT Kearney is USA and Oppeus in Australia for clients in mining, tech, automotive, professional services, and government sectors. She started her journey in innovation and product development with Applied Materials in California. She is active in industry associations - Indian Merchants Chambers [Co-Chair Ease of Living Committee, Member Education Committee], BRICS CCI [Member], CII [Member Real Estate Committee], FICCI BRICS Business Council [Member Infrastructure Committee], TiE Melbourne [Cofounder & Events Director]. She has been instrumental in building national scale digital platforms for Startup India - Maarg, Invest India, Swachh Bharat Mission Urban, National Institute for Urban Affairs, United Way USA, Indian Railways, Airports Authority of India, amid others. She has provided technology expertise for Agra, Lucknow, Aurangabad, Solapur smart cities, Delhi Police, and Brookfield. She holds 7 US patents for semi-conductor manufacturing. She has a B.Tech. from IIT Kanpur, MS from UC Berkeley, and MBA from Carnegie Mellon Tepper Business School. She is passionate about content - spoken, written and visual. She has written 2 books of fiction and is a frequent commentator on business, technology, and marketing issues in mainstream media, magazines and electronic platforms. She has been featured and interviewed for leading magazines, newspapers and other media. She has co-authored white papers on e-Governance, Smart Cities, Design Thinking for NITI, CII, MEITY and DoT.
