The TREX is an - Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) project that facilitated the client in monitoring and controlling the freeway facilities in metropolitan Denver. The system gathers information from sources like traffic sensors, AVDS (Arterial vehicle detection system), Ramp Meters and CCTV (Closed-Circuit Television). The system also included GUI to allow authorized users the ability to manually enter pertinent roadway information to generate a response plan to manage the freeway incidents. Incident and traffic information is disseminated to a variety of sources like Dynamic Message Signs (DMS), Highway Advisory Radio (HAR), and the general public via the Internet. I was responsible for the following: Design and development of different modules such as Wireless Data Transmitter-Receiver (WDTR), Count Station Data Acquisition (CSDA), Simulator for Traffic Sensor, Service Monitor and RTMS (Remote Microwave Traffic Sensor) Driver using C++, MFC and WinSock API
