About

My core childhood memories are filled with picking wild blueberries during family hikes, fishing with my grandparents, caring for the Guinea hens my cousins and I raised, and catching frogs in the pond behind my house with friends. These experiences have fostered a deep connection and appreciation for nature and the intricate bonds among its creatures. Today, I’m that friend who excitedly identifies every tree, shrub, bird, snake, mammal, and fish we spot on hikes. People often ask me questions about the natural world, and I love sharing my knowledge and passion for wildlife! My primary focus has been on protecting wildlife and their habitats to promote biodiversity and connectivity. I thrive on hands-on fieldwork and continually seek opportunities to immerse myself in nature. Currently, I am a wildlife research fellow at USAG-West Point, where I survey diverse flora and fauna and have opportunities to design my own research project. I am currently investigating the interaction between white-tailed deer and forest regeneration. But my work doesn't stop there, it also encompass a variety of other species, including snakes, bats, birds, salamanders, fish, turtles, bears, and otters. I am always striving to find the next best opportunity to protect and enhance wildlife. Recently, I obtained my wetlands delineation certificate, marking an important step toward that goal. Look out for the girl that wants to get her hands dirty and try new things to achieve her dreams!
