I have been trained to be able to work independently in different areas in the clinic. I have been trained as a receptionist for the clinic, using Avimart to monitor patient medical history, ordering new equipment, transferring records, filling prescriptions, and other duties carried out by a clinic. I assist veterinarians in treatment. Duties include speaking to new people each day, handling small animals, monitoring patients in surgery, and monitoring patients in therapy and in X-rays. Another portion of the clinic is dedicated to boarding and grooming. This area is one of the most indecently driven tasks of the clinic, with no supervision, I have been responsible for up to 30 animals. In the boarding facilities, Avimart is used much more for billing, medical history, and scheduling.

* Responsibilities * My duties as a caregiver include assisting residents who are completely dependent, privacy laws are explicitly set. In addition to assisting in hygiene, preparing meals, and other daily activities, I am a certified med assist and distribute scheduled medications. My daily duties are recorded in a communication log as well as the company's online data base which monitors scheduled medications, and daily needs of each resident. My responsibilities over 13 individuals keep me focused and quick to complete tasks in a demanding environment. * Accomplishments * I helped the team that I worked with to provide services to residents in a timely fashion. * Skills Used * Patience, bearing weight, time management, cleaning, hygiene care for residents.

From 2010-2013 I was a research assistant in the Biology Department at UNM. I studied parasites called Nematomorpha, a parasite of crickets and grasshoppers. collaborated with researchers from Oklahoma State University and Hamburg Germany to publish species descriptions. I presented my research in different forums, the Southwest Association of Parasitology and American Society of Parasitology, University of New Mexico, Walatowa High school, Rio Rancho High school. The chemicals used in the Loker lab were usually sent ready to use, but occasionally we would need to dilute, allocate, or add a conjugate before using chemicals in our procedures. The disposal of our chemicals was done by a third party, but it was our responsibility to aid in the disposal with proper labeling and packaging. Working in the lab required some knowledge in chemistry,math, and computers. Anyone who worked in the lab was trained to be aware of chemical compositions, hazards associated with the chemicals,and proper use of each chemical.
