Alvin has more than 10 years of experience in public accounting. Currently, Alvin serves as a Director in Grant Thornton's National Professional Standards Group with focus on monitoring work of engagement teams performing integrated audits of public companies. Alvin ensures that the audit approach taken by the teams and the procedures performed are appropriate and he also ensures that critical accounting and audit matters are identified and resolved. He is also helping teams evaluate and test management's implementation of new accounting standards. In this role, he also actively participates and leads firm-wide efforts such as updating audit quality monitoring checklists, developing and providing national and local training, assisting audit teams during firm inspections, etc. Prior to joining the National Office, Alvin worked as a manager in audits of commercial audit clients, both private and public. Alvin is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Philippines Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
