U.S. liaison to World Bank (WB) Corporate Secretary and policy advisor to U.S. Director, a Presidential appointee, on WB Board. Negotiated with U.S. agencies, NGOs and other strategic partners on written statements of the U.S. position on WB operations, particularly for WB policies on internal controls and goverance protocols. Prepared and reviewed pre-read materials, and delivered position statements on behalf of the U.S. Director at WB Board and Audit Committee meetings. Performed fiduciary duties for U.S. government agencies through representation on WB Board. Delivered statements on behalf of U.S. Director (Robert B. Holland III), a Presidential appointee, at WBG Board and Audit committee meetings.

Intern for public interest law firm. Organized conference co-sponsored by World Health Organization on legal issues surrounding HIV/AIDS in South Asia, resulting in European Commission funding for Collective to establish first HIV/AIDS advocacy center in South Asia, working directly with Indian advocate Anand Grover, who later served as UN special representative on Right to Health. Drafted articles for handbook on environmental activism in India and for firm's publication; lectured in local law school.

Transactional practice focuses on aviation, finance, energy and real estate industries, as well as strategic consulting practice on government contracts and regulatory matters at the federal, state and local levels.

Consultant on International Initiatives: Organized high-level government and business delegation from Mexico City visit to Chicago for city-to-city exchange on trading and economic opportunities. Liaised with private and public sector partners including the University of Chicago, the Chicago Council on Global Affairs, the U.S. Commerce Department, the Chicago Consulates, the Mexican-American Chamber of Commerce and the Chicago Chamber of Commerce. Legal community liaison: Began the establishment of the Legal Advisory Board for World Business Chicago.

Executed project and leveraged finance transactions for U.S. government and international institution clients investing in emerging markets; led marketing efforts and business development of such clients, collaborating with Mayer Brown lawyers in Europe, Latin America and Asia. Pro-bono counsel for Accion Chicago (local micro-finance organization), Chicago Community Loan Fund, City of Chicago's small business center and Heartland Alliance (DREAM Act cases).

International Agreements: Successfully negotiated financing, charter and/or debt relief agreements with Governments of Belize, Mexico, Uruguay, and Turkey. Served as Treasury representative on U.S. negotiating team to establish Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria. Established and arranged co-financing by U.S. government with European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in SME Fund for Southeastern Europe. Legislation/Regulation: Drafted legislation and negotiated with Congressional staff on legal and policy issues concerning U.S. participation in the international financial institutions. Drafted regulations for new Iraqi currency and oversight board for U.S. management of Iraqi oil revenues and negotiated provisions with U.S. Departments of State and Defense.

Drafted documents and organized closings for domestic/international mergers and acquisitions, structured finance and project finance transactions. Served as issuer's counsel in debt/equity offerings of U.S. and foreign companies.

* Transactional and regulatory attorney focusing on ( * municipal bond offerings and airline-airport agreements; ( * City contracts for departments including Aviation, Transportation and Police; and ( * health privacy matters.
