Alma Silva

I graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor's on Child, Adult and Family Services. My future career goals are to help families and especially minorities to be successful in our society. I want to provide them resources to be successful. I want to encourage youth to go to school and get their dream job. In a future I would like to go to graduate school and get my master’s in social work. I would like to do this because in the social work field master’s degree are often required. Also a master’s degree can be useful to work more outside and independently. I'm glad to say that every job I've had gave me the opportunity to work with many different kinds of people.The people I had work with have different backgrounds, different ideas, and different culture than I. Which I believe is beneficial for my major, because it had helped me to learn to work with different kinds of personalities and attitudes. I had learn that it’s important to respect other’s ideas and values. Since I would be working with people, I believe these would be helpful in my future career. In my free time I enjoy doing community service. Community service had helped me to know that it’s important to help others without expecting anything back. I consider myself an enthusiastic person, calm and able to follow instructions. I like to help others to be successful. I always like to be organize and respect other’s opinions.
