🚀CEO & Founder of Sea Going Green, a sustainable tourism advisory specialised in regenerative tourism strategies for the (marine) tourism industry. Our mission is to alleviate the negative impacts of the tourism industry on the (marine) environment. We do this by working with both the private and public sector, from carbon accounting to destination sustainable tourism strategies with governments. Part of ACE - #1 Incubator in the NL (Emerce100) , Rockstart Femteq by INCO, JPMorgan Chase & Co, Adyen Accelerator Program. 🌱 Our green transition strategies make our clients future proof and equipped to protect the destination their tourism products rely on, ensuring they will be profitable for years to come. 🔥 My strengths lie in business development, partnerships and customer relations & management. 🌊 Being a marine biologist, and coming from academia becoming an entrepreneur has been one of the largest learning curves of my life- but also one of the most enjoyable! Previously having worked in the tourism sector, and travelling for most of my life I was always looking how to combine my career and passions together – the oceans & travelling while making a positive impact. Sustainable Tourism Consultant
Green Case Sustainable Tourism and Sea Going Green, on behalf of Plan Bleu for the EU project NaTour4CChange, have carried out vital research on climate resilience in Mediterranean coastal tourism destinations. Sea Going Green successfully conducted a comprehensive survey of best practices on climate action in coastal tourism destinations for Plan Bleu, a regional activity center of the Mediterranean Action Plan focused on sustainable development and environmental protection in the Mediterranean. Our project involved desktop research, stakeholder mapping, questionnaire development, and consultations with Mediterranean tourism stakeholders. We identified gaps in sustainable development and compiled best practices into a detailed report.

Sea Going Green worked together with Greencase Consulting , to develop a Sustainability Playbook for Six Senses highlighting their plastic free and sustainability solutions. The aim of this playbook is to inspire the tourism industry as well as consumers on how hospitality can be plastic free and tackle sustainability issues by highlighting best practises and case studies.

Sri Lanka
Development of a Marine Tourism Roadmap for Sri Lanka, funded by the ADB for SLTDA and the MoT. For the purpose of aiding Sri Lanka’s economic recovery and tourism revival following a series of economic, security and health and safety crises, this project scope aimed to catalyze the potential for marine tourism development with an emphasis on yachting and boating activities in coastal destinations: Kalpitiya, Galle and Trincomalee.

Sustainable Tourism Consultant
SUSTOUR
Project involvement included development of a series of climate-change specific training modules on the environmental impacts and carbon footprints of the tourism industry from transport to operations to activities, and audited SME tourism operators to become Travelife certified. SUSTOUR is a program aiming to support tourism operators (SMEs) with information on trainings, management systems and standards and solutions to enhance their sustainability prospects. The initiative is spearheaded by Travelife, European Centre for Eco and Agro Tourism (ECEAT), The Netherlands Association of Tour operators (ANVR) among other European tourism travel industry representatives.

This multidisciplinary MSc program is an advanced study, which focuses on freshwater ecosystems (limnology) as well as marine ecosystems (oceanography). Graduates have developed a strong theoretical background and hands on research skills through complusory research internships that make us able to solve complex marine and freshwater environmental issues.
