My core responsibilities were to develop and implement HR policy and procedures for senior staff and assist with operational processes for matters relating to SES remuneration, performance management, leadership, relocations, recruitment as well as Ministerial, policy recommendations and advice to senior executive staff.

In this role I helped the room leader with a variety of tasks as required. This ranged from entertaining and minding children of ages 0-5, room set up and cleaning, evaluating and monitoring childrens progress, ad hoc information sessions with parents and food preparation. This enjoyable role exposed me to a variety of personalities, physical, emotional and intellectual duties and provided me with an understanding of the importance of the role between parent and carer.

I managed the coordination of senior executive (SES) and overseas recruitment for the department. This involved providing recruitment solutions and advice, stakeholder engagement, policy development and implementation as well as administrative and reporting tasks. In this role I researched sourcing strategies with a heavy focus on utilising social media in a recruitment environment.

In this role I provided general recruitment advice and administration for the department. I was also involved in a Selection Model Improvement Project which analysed a recruitment 'pilot' built in consultation with organisational psychologists and used the data to create and implement a whole of department recruitment solution. This exposed me to project management foundations including communication strategies, budget analysis, risk management and project proposals. A solid understanding of project management, the workings of a government agency and most importantly, stakeholder engagement were the highlights I gained from my time in this role.

While offering executive assistance to a variety of senior staff in the engineering/operational units of Prime, I also managed the company's capital expenditure, telecommunications and site leasing arrangements. This role exposed me to the importance of organisational processes and mutli-level communication. Understanding contractual and financial obligations and arrangements gave me a further understanding of medium-level enterprises.

Working as a customer service representative I undertook a variety of roles including teller, treasurer of the main branch and foreign currency specialist, where I provided specialised services to diplomats and embassies. This role introduced me to how a large corporation works and gave me insight into the importance of customer service, integrity and professionalism.
