On a dynamic team of highly motivated and driven professionals, contributing policy development, legislative and change management expertise and advice to navigate complex environments and integrate systems to ultimately improve experiences of aging in the continuing care system in Alberta.

Identify and track current and future trends, analyze complex policy, program and legislative issues across government and support strategic policy direction for the Division and across government. Develop recommendations based on analyses, briefing materials and other reports for consideration by executive management and the Minister. Conduct consultations, collaborates, and coordinates efforts with other government departments, other levels of government and industry stakeholders. Establish working partnerships for addressing issues affecting seniors. Ensure continuing care related issues are addressed appropriately and effectively.

• Develop working relationships in the non-profit community • Conduct a thorough review of elder abuse services throughout Alberta • Create and write a user friendly manual on elder abuse for community agencies and services in Alberta

• Support public policy and program development related to older adults • Evaluate Requests for Proposals • Research and review senior housing trends • Author a chapter on standards and licensing for the Seniors Housing Forum and a Seniors Housing in Alberta summary booklet • Compile and summarize large volumes of researched data

• Participate in program evaluation and event planning and implementation • Catalyze and facilitate the adoption of health enhancing behaviours and attitudes amongst peers; recruit volunteers • Present health information to university classes and student groups • Create, set-up, and staff displays and special events • Accountable for being a reliable and approachable source of accurate information about the health issues addressed

• Support the preparation of major collaborative grant applications • Conduct literature and web searches; compile and collect data; summarize research findings for dissemination to the public; create and install exhibits • Office assistance as required • Appreciate the importance of research in formulating and advising public programs and policies • RAPP = Research on Aging Practices and Policies; HCIC = Hidden Costs/ Invisible Contributions
