Registered Home Manager of an 50 bed Care Home with Nursing and a Dementia community .

I took up this position in an 80 bed nursing home for people with complex nursing mental health and dementia needs , the home was in special measures when I joined there , within 4 weeks it was inspected as RI. At the time I left we were waiting an overdue inspection , took place within six weeks and obtained a Good star rating with a very good inspection report . I thoroughly enjoyed leading the team and homes through this transition .

General Manager of a 62 bed residential home with dementia care , nursing care and a specialised mental health unit. A fairly new home that had been without a manager for a length of time. The Nursing Unit is Avante's introduction of their first nursing service , from appointment my role included intensive clinical recruitment and development of policies and procedures .The home has been commissioned with the local authority since I have been there with the introduction of a 17 bed specialised mental health unit.

Home manager of 90 bed care home, providing residential , nursing , dementia , end of life and respite care . The home is now of a very good reputation in the community, has a waiting list and the local authority and CCG's all contract to it. Also CQC compliant.

I managed a 40 bed care home with Nursing Care , when I joined the home had been issued a regulation requirement from CQC which was then lifted within 4 months, the home was inspected at that time and up graded on the star rating system from adequate to good. Following this I worked closely with the PCT in the borough and gained their trust which in turn generated business to bring the home up to full occupancy with a waiting list by the time I left. We also worked very closely with the continuing care team and stroke ward at the local hospital providing care for some very complex clients successfully.

Manager of an Adults Learning Disability Care Home with independent living. Also doing the Provider inspections of a children's respite home for children with learning disabilities and severe challenging behaviour.

Registered Manager of various residential and dementia care homes. Including respite, emergency care placements , day care, Asian Day Care, block and rehabilitation units. Being sent supernumary to homes that had an Embargo placed upon it to work with staff and CQC to improve the quality of care and the areas of concern. Taking over newly received homes from the Local Authority and recruiting, implementing Quality systems and leading staff during the turbulent times, dealing with the TUPE transfers.

Responsibility for the units throughout the borough including special units where the residents were more dependent and being kept in their own home with perhaps nursing and mental health needs. Doing pre admission assessments , management of the sheltered housing managers, budget planning , management and control, suitability of placements, recruitment, building management, unsocial tenants, inspections of each unit and monitoring quality and customer satisfaction. Line management if the Wardens and domestic staff within the sheltered units. Dealing with rent arrears of clients and staff.

Assistant and then progressed to Manager of homeless families hostels, working shift cover initially for 4 years up until I progressed to manager, dealing with Rotas, budgets, ordering of supplies, recruitment and supervision of staff, new residents and referrals to other departments I.e social services, DSS, other voluntary agencies, attendance at case conferences, attendance at sectioning of clients under the mental health act, working with mental health team, dealing with residents with health issues, HIV, probationary services, the Police, attendance at court , monitoring the standards and maintenance of the building.

Overall responsibility for the units, staff, residents, budgets, alternative placements, multi disciplinary working with voluntary agencies , social services and the mental health team, dealing with child protection issues, safeguardings, evictions and attendance at court, housing benefits, estate management , maintenance, new builds , surveyors.
