New Era Robotics & AI • Lead product and technology roadmap from conceptualization through to implementation rollout and deployment. • Lead technology and system/sub-system architectural designs, reviews and drive engineering team developments, integrations, V&V to productization • Management of multiple teams inc. overseas with a total of up to ~60 HC • Responsible for engineering resource management to ensure both on-time research/feature developments as well project bug close rates.

AI and Service Robotics BU: •Development, implementation and integration of novel algorithms for sensor signal processing, sensor fusion, feature extraction, classification and tracking, localization, 3D mapping, route planning, motion planning, obstacle avoidance, etc. •Produce computationally intensive software and high-quality results in real time. •Collaborate with a cross-functional team to generate solutions and take them from concept to production.

In an environment of high-tech civil/military simulation products, •Pre-validate/verify software/hardware products; detect potential problems and trouble-shoot/debug to resolve issues. •Assemble various software components in order to create the simulation product. •Lead and offer technical support to software engineers during integration of their systems. •Ensure software configuration management control. •Responsible for the simulation platform, preparation, operation and maintenance. •Provide input to project integration plan and the relaying of project status/risk, etc. to engineering/project management.

Development of simulation software solutions for problem reports or project tasks; involving: - Requirements analysis, - Effort estimation and planning, - Design, - Implementation and testing, - Production of all relevant documentation, - Ensuring reviews are conducted during the stages of development and - Monitoring effort versus budget with a view to ensuring accurate planning. Includes identifying and justifying insufficient budgeted tasks.

Implementated an extended Kalman filtering algorithm for fusion of GPS, IMU and image sensors expanding the operating conditions of autonomous UAV. Designed and implemented a control algorithm for a low-risk autonomous landing in strong wind and limited ground-space environment without the availabilty of GPS information. Designed and implemented an image processing and monocular/stereo machine algorithm for identification of a pre-defined pattern and determining the sensor pose relative to this pattern - down to cm precision using COTS hardware. Designed, implemented and integrated an HIL system for the proof of conccept of the above: - Coded “C” image processing modules using Intel IPP®/OpenCV© libraries. - Coded “C++” video streaming/capture application using Allied Vision Camera SDK©. - Coded “C” Real-Time flight simulation modules using Simulink® and its Real-Time™ kernel API. - Coded “C” X-Plane® simulation control and network interface plug-ins using Winsock© API.
