I spoke to the group about the importance of making good grades, learning good study habits, and networking through study groups. Also, explain to them what exactly does an "A" tell their future employer. I won the new speaker award.

While president the group achieved the highest honor a club can in Toastmaster, but more importantly the members where seeing a better improvement in their confidence when speaking to other co-workers, especially managers. Also, they were a lot more efficient in their professional presentation skills from the platform that was for them to do the first 5 minutes of their presentation they were planning to present. Afterwards they received positive feedback on things they well and areas of improvement.

I was instrumental in helping to get the group more visibility within the community. We help to encourage high schoolers and younger in a fun manner to pursue a career in engineering or at last a math and/or science based degree.

Teaching leaders on a collegiate and corporate level how to put the FUN back into their leadership. How do you know if the fun is gone out of your leadership? If people are leaving your group, disgruntle, and/or talking about impeaching you...the fun is gone. If member of your team see you walking down the hall towards them and they make a 180 degree turn to avoid crossing paths with you...the fun is gone. If you wake up in the morning calculating how old you will be when you finish serving jail time for assault charges for choking out a member on your team...the fun is gone.
