I recently ended my Actuarial Career and have retired. For more than 40 years I worked in various roles as an Actuary in the Health Insurance Industry in both large national firms and in a nationally oriented Managed Care Consulting Firm. I've worked with almost every population including Commercial, Medicaid, Medicare, TRICARE and the uninsured indigent. My best contributions are in developing areas where creativity, innovation and a willingness to work outside the "lines" of the operating model are important. Based on my business knowledge and what is known at the time, I have the ability to develop potential future scenarios to prepare for results before they appear in the financial results. I'm not necessarily looking for any sort of traditional work position. I do like learning and contributing in Health Care or other challenges when its the right thing for me to do for a good reason. And I am doing that in convenient and personal situations. I have been meditating for over 40 years and researching Eastern philosophy and other non-traditional belief systems. I have taken courses in Life Coaching and my college degree is in Psychology. I believe "well being," or living a healthy life is about more than physical health The health care industry is moving in this direction. Many studies have shown that people who live consistently with their life purpose are happy and effective. I have personally used consciousness to change my own life. Until about 15 years ago, I stuttered so severely, there were many times I could not say even one word. I became fluent (with some occasional hesitations) by consciously changing the definition of myself from "stutterer" to "fluent."
