Managed three programs funded by Louisiana Tech University, National Science Foundation, and Louisiana Board of Regents. My responsibilities included schedule management, budget management ($125,000 annually), strategic decision-making, coordination of internal and external parties, assessment and formative evaluation, grant report writing, marketing, logistics, and public communication including press releases and community outreach events.

Aided in the creation of a start-up company. Analyzed college students’ academic challenges and provided learning plans. Oversaw details for events, projects, and reports.

Helped start the Freshman Enrichment Program, an NSF-funded program that supported 312 at-risk STEM freshmen (16% female and 13.5% minority). Graduation rates within STEM fields at the time of project reporting were 55%, compared to 30% for comparable cohorts. Co-led the African American Male Initiative, a campus wide initiative to increase the success of African American males in college, especially in STEM fields. University graduation rates for this group were between 90 and 100%. Advised National Society of Black Engineers local chapter. Coordinated events for TechSTEP, an NSF-funded STEM recruiting, retention, and teacher training program. Discussed time management, career planning, and success strategies with university students majoring in engineering and science fields.

Design process control systems for natural gas compressor stations and processing facilities. Specify and procure instruments and valves to control process variables such as pressure, temperature, flow, and level. Lead development program for interns and young employees in engineering and project management departments.
