Alice Wong

Alice joined the board of Hecla Mining Company (NYSE:HL) in 2021 and currently is the chair of the governance and social responsibility committee. Alice joined the board of Precision Drilling (TSE:PD; NYSE:PDS) in May 2024. Alice was the senior advisor to the CEO, Cameco Corporation and prior to that served as senior vice-president and chief corporate officer for 13 years. Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the fuel needed to energize a clean-air world. She has held diverse and increasingly senior leadership roles at Cameco for more than 35 years. In her officer role, she provided executive oversight for human resources, safety, health, environment, quality, regulatory relations, business technology services, supply chain management, internal audit and corporate ethics. Prior to this, she was vice-president safety, health, environment, quality and regulatory relations (2008 to 2011). She led the company through an increasingly complex regulatory world while ensuring the company’s SHEQ processes and systems received the focus required as they underpin our goal of operational excellence and enhanced communications and relationships with the company’s regulators. As vice-president investor, corporate and government relations (2005 to 2008), she was responsible for managing Cameco’s communications programs and guiding the company’s efforts in building and enhancing relationships with its major stakeholders. In addition to these vice-president roles, Alice has experience in marketing, corporate development and strategic planning. She has been integral in Cameco’s position as a leading industrial employer of Indigenous peoples in Canada. She also provided leadership for ground-breaking collaboration agreements with Cameco’s home communities in the north – focusing on workforce development, business development, environmental stewardship, community engagement and community investment. She is a past board member of Sask Energy Corporation, Mining Association of Canada, Uranium Producers of America, Canadian Nuclear Association (past chair of the board) and Saskatchewan Mining Association.
