Pioneering evidence-based sustainability within the pet industry. I co-founded Pet Impact in 2020 which aims to promote sustainable pet ownership. Our main focus is on tackling plastic pollution through the use of dog poo bags. After a year of research, we developed ReSEAcled Poo Bags, the world's first Plastic Negative Poo Bag. After learning about the many issues with biodegradable and compostable poo bags, we discovered waste-based poo bags are actually the most sustainable option for the majority of pet owners (who dispose of their dog's poo in general waste). Not only are they made with recycled plastic and oyster shell waste, each bag funds the removal of one bottle's worth of ocean-bound plastic, while supporting marginalised waste workers in India. This equates to removing 5 times as much plastic waste from nature as used in our poo bags. This plastic collection is verified and fully traceable through the world's leading plastic action platform rePurpose Global. As of 2025, we're the first to publish an independent ISO-aligned life cycle assessment on our poo bags, benchmarking ReSEAcled against common alternatives. The ReSEAcled poo bag shows strong environmental performance across all major impact categories within our study, outperforming compostable bags in 14/16 categories.
