Expert, hands-on use of optical, laser 3D microscopes and cameras, Candela optical surface analyzer (OSA), for Air and Helium leak testers, and standard engineering tools such as: head and disk handling tools, and hand tools. Used test equipment and analytical tools such as logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, high magnification, optical, laser, 3D microscope 5000X, metrology instruments, and high-speed camera to record failure event on simulation test systems. Troubleshoot, debug tests to find root cause and delivered FA results to customers and components vendors within challenging timelines. -Perform mechanical failure analysis (FA) of hard disk drives during the development phase of new Server products. Determined Failure processes through analysis/characterization on new products and components. Conduct hard disk drive teardowns and perform detailed file/sub-assembly/component inspections and failure analysis to determine root cause of the failure Develop mechanical measurement tools/methods as needed for root cause understanding of failures. Utilize FA findings to identify workmanship, contamination, and component cleanliness issues as related to the reliability/performance of disk drives. Work closely with the Material Science Lab (SEM, EDX, AFM, TOF-SIMS, Raman, FTIR). Coordinate FA activities in related departments and summarize all related results to the development teams in reports and in periodic presentations. Provide feedback to the Manufacturing Engineering team for corrective actions when process/tooling/workmanship/supplier related defects are identified.

Carried out accelerated stress testing (ESD, Humidity, Thermal Cycling tests, Voltage Cycling tests, Mechanical, Magnetize, stress testers) to characterize read head performance. Performed failure analysis using Quasi testers such as: ISI, CalBay, Sunflower and Ultraquasi. Executed ESD testing (ESD testers) HBM, MM and 1ns tests. Collected and analyzed raw data from testers: Oryx, Agilent, Calbay, Tektronix and Uquasi. Designed new tester fixtures and probe cards (um) for various tests Characterization tests for Head reliability , Designed new tester fixtures and probe cards (um) for various tests. Measured slider surface uniformity using Zygo machine, ESD testing, Quasi test, and Wyko Recession measurements.

Designed, developed, integrated and manufactured diesel engines and tractors for agricultural applications. Customized tests and defined new tests to qualify components to use the new product.
