I wrote my final thesis about parameter-controlled bridge design automation. Using CAD software, Rhinoceros, and Grasshopper, we developed a comprehensive script that streamlined the bridge design process. Our solution automated repetitive engineering tasks by allowing designers to simply input key parameters such as bridge location, span length, gradient, and cross-sectional dimensions. The script would then generate a complete bridge design based on these parameters. The innovative aspect of our work was the ability to transform complex, time-consuming bridge modeling into an efficient, parameter-driven process. The final output could be seamlessly implemented into Tekla Structures for further detailing and documentation, creating a continuous digital workflow from conceptual design to construction documentation.
