Besides analyzing, reporting and advising account managers, I was actively involved in co-creating several intiatives to improve and streamline the standards for our daily work. This also included contributing input for new CDD-guidelines, all through a Lean/Six Sigma way of working adapted by our team.

Furthermore, as an independent party serving all ends of the industry, Foodstep hosts the leading networking platforms in the business. Founded on entrepreneurial values, new companies with innovative propositions are added to the company holding on a regular basis. These start ups include: ‘shoot my food’, ‘PS in Foodservice’, and ‘Conceptional’.

For a period of 20 weeks I worked at the Fairview Park Marriott, Falls Church, USA. As an intern of the Rooms Division Department I worked both at the Front Desk as the Housekeeping department. At the Front Desk you are the 'face' of the hotel and the main task of our team was to take care of all the guests requests. At the Housekeeping I was supervisor and responsible for all the 395 rooms getting cleaned on time. Besides my work I lived in Washington D.C. for 6 months which was an amazing experience and I have learned a lot of being a part of the American society.

The Renaissance Philadelphia Airport Hotel is a 349-room property including 52 suites. As one of the upscale hotels of the Philadelphia Metropolitan Area it hosts both leisure and business guests as well as larger groups. As an assistant Housekeeping Manager I assisted the Executive Housekeeper in managing the daily activities. I acted as a liaison to coordinate the efforts of Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office and Laundry. Other activities included running sold room reports, verifying room statuses, determine discrepant rooms, prioritize room cleaning and update status of departing guest rooms. Maintaining the high Renaissance standards and responsible for inventory i.e. all the equipment the Housekeepers need to clean the rooms accordingly. With our Housekeeping team we managed to raise the scores of cleanliness from 78.1 in 2011 to 82.2 in 2012.

This position involved assisting existing and prospective individual clients with their daily banking matters. This concerned consults about low-complex products such as payment methods, options for savings, personal insurances and personal credit. I worked both per phone as well as on site at the branch offices, serving clients face to face. Besides my daily work I had a special focus on a project to make my colleagues aware to allure our clients to make use of our online banking possibilities.
