Therapeutic Area Head, Infectious Diseases
• GPH of the middle/late clinical stage COVID-19 vaccine program coordinating cross-functional team: R&D strategy and clinical plans for primary and booster COVID-19 prevention indications. • Secured over $9M of funding from CEPI. Chair in the JSC collaborative program • Led Phase 3 platform clinical study evaluating heterologous booster with a subunit COVID-19 vaccine (NCT05293665). The clinical trial met its primary and secondary endpoints. The first study to demonstrate non-inferiority and superiority of immune responses after a heterologous booster in a head-to-head comparison to COVID-19 vaccine platforms (mRNA, adenovirus vectored, and inactivated virus). • Supported regulatory and market authorizations; successful submission with MHRA (UK)/TGA (Australia). MAA decision is imminent. • Medical Lead, Phase 1 dose-escalation study of a PSCK9 vaccine candidate. The study is ongoing • Supervised safety monitoring across all clinical programs at Vaxxinity

Mentored research graduation projects of biotech interns. • GPH of a preclinical Tick-Borne Encephalitis program: created preclinical research plan for TBE prevention indication and viral vector strategy for multiple human and veterinary targets. • Managed cross-functional program team; liaised with international stakeholders to define technical and market risks to guarantee program success; administered the project and collaborative research budgets. • Authored scientific publications, patents and patent applications. Presented research findings at multiple national and international scientific conferences.
