* Chief student services officer for comprehensive community college responsible for Title IX and section 504 compliance, and supervising admissions & registration, counseling, campus safety & security, financial aid, international & multicultural education, information technology, printing & graphics, capital facilities & strategic planning. Responsible for $5 * million in total budgets including state allocation, revenue/enterprise funds, and fee budgets and for for reaching enrollment targets of 4800 * FTES with headcount of 6500 * students.

Coordinating the development of student leadership programs and teaching related courses aimed at providing substantial leadership training opportunities for Washington State University undergraduate students. The vision is to distinguish WSU from other land grant research universities by going beyond the baccalaureate degree and exposing undergraduate students to focused and contextualized leadership training. This work is grounded in the Social Change Model of leadership development originating out of UCLA and our ultimate goal is having a variety of 4 year leadership experiences in place for WSU undergraduates. In sum we want graduates to leave the university understanding how they will influence and improve their respective communities. Additional responsibilities include assisting with the Provost’s Faculty Leadership Academy.

Led the liberal arts & sciences unit, adult basic education, and the district’s library system. Made all teaching assignments, acquired and manage instructional resources, and chaired hiring and tenure committees. Unit produced nearly 2,000+ FTES (70+% of district FTE), 2,500 students in headcount, and expends approximately $4 M in total budgets. Supervised 8 staff and 40 fulltime and 40+ part-time faculty. Curricular and faculty divisions include developmental education (incl. counselors), adult basic education (incl. ESL, GED, corrections, WorkFirst), humanities, mathematics & physical education, natural sciences, and social sciences. Co-chaired district’s Curriculum Committee and serve as voting member of district’s Instruction Council and Academic Regulations, Planning, Technology, and Marketing committees. Served on President’s Cabinet as branch campus representative (2002-05). Promoted from Director of Operations to branch campus Dean in 2004. Promoted to position on main campus in January, 2006.

Led the Omak campus and its faculty division and interfaced branch operations with main campus in Wenatchee to acquire and manage instructional resources. Developed Omak area foundation and served as college president's proxy for community outreach in Okanogan county. Supervised 6 staff and 8 fulltime and 20+ part-time faculty. and served as voting member of district’s Instruction Council and Academic Regulations, Planning, Technology, and Marketing committees. Served on President’s Cabinet as branch campus representative.

Administrative portion of position included capital & strategic planning, campus safety, emergency management/response, information technology, building scheduling/conferences, outreach and marketing and print/copy services. The student life portion of the position included establishing and leading the campus behavioral intervention team and supervising the directors of campus life and student-funded programs plus student union food services/special events and catering contractors.

Coordinate the Student Conduct and Community Standards system on behalf of the Dean of Students (DOS) office and function as DOS prosecutor in cases appealed to Student Disciplinary Review Board (SDRB) and beyond. The position requires close work with local law enforcement and courts, student and faculty leadership, faculty members, students accused of infractions, administrators, and parents. SDRB hearings include high-stakes matters such as suspensions and dismissals in Title IX cases. Hearing Officer in a variety of cases of Student Code of Conduct violations as well as serving as liaison to external disciplinary systems in Housing and Greek-letter organizations. Member of the University's Title IX Team working with compliance and investigative staff and a member of the University's Threat Assessment Team.

Experiential Education--applied to secondary and post-secondary travel-curriculum/adventure education; also applied in business/organizational groups as training modality. Activities and Societies: Nordic ski racing, mountaineering, rock climbing, canoeing/kayaking, bicycling, sailing.

Leisure and Environmental Resources Administration: training aimed for park service, municipal park district, camp administration, not-profit organizations and YMCA professional staff. Activities and Societies: Student Outing Service (SOS) officer; awarded collegewide Outstanding Student for contribution to SOS

Educational Leadership & Policy Studies, pursuing Ed.D. degree. Activities and Societies: Led sing-alongs, performed as M.C. and opener, performed as headliner, member of Bud Gardner & The Vegetables for many volunteer community events in The Okanogan (WA).
