To conduct deep dive interrogation of the Successor Programme Risk dataset. To ascertain independent confidence levels on existing estimates and engage with Programme stakeholders to develop those entries where assurance is low; to lift the confidence of the Risk dataset to a level where reported financial Risk impacts may be regarded as robust. To provide consultancy to the Merlin PT by generating then maturing the schedule and risk dataset to a sufficient level of quality and robustness to inform the PT submission to the DE&S Approvals Board of the £500M CROWSNEST project.

To provide subject matter expertise to the MOD DE&S CAAS Approvals Team (CAT) in the generation and delivery of Cost Assurance Reports, Notes and Assurance Advice to MOD Project Teams in support of individual Business Case Review Board (BCRB) and Investment Approval Committee (IAC) submissions. Delivered by conducting analysis on the Cost Modelling, Schedule and Risk elements of each Business Case and providing advice to PTs on adherence to best practice and compliance with published MOD Approvals Guidance (JSP 655).

Requested by name by the MOD client to provide subject matter expertise in Risk Management, Schedule Risk Analysis, Cost Modelling and MOD Financial Approvals to deliver the DE&S DG Resources sponsored Financial Risk Pilot Phase 2 programme of works. These are designed to assess the maturity and completeness of those business processes and documentation sets for every DE&S CAT A (>£400M) Programme which influence and inform the EPP funding lines for those Programmes.

Business Analyst on Programme WATERGUARD. Programme established due to equipment returning from Theatre and overseas sites attracting interest of HMRC as being liable for VAT and import duty. Latest estimate puts this figure at £1.8 billion. The role involved the interrogation of MOD Logistic systems and paper Airway bills (shipping dockets) detailing kit returning to the UK from April 2010 to date, identifying the kit from the Airway bill, then the procuring Project Team, the name of the supplier, the contract number and the contract award date. When these could be established, it allowed for presentation to HMRC that all duties had been paid at time of contract award and no further charge could be levied. For those items that could not be identified as above, VAT and import duty will have to be paid by the MOD to HMRC.

* Responsible for the line management responsibilities for 10 industrial staff undertaking network installation duties in HMNB Rosyth and other Scottish MOD sites. * Fibre and copper installations undertaken. * Responsible for H&S risk assessments prior to all works being carried out

Telecommunications Customer Liaison Officer responsible for representing all Scottish MOD Naval establishments with the approved contractor, BT. System Administrator of the Maritime Head Quarters Pitreavie PRIME LAN.

To plan local telecommunication installations on behalf of the MOD. To produce preliminary and subsequent detailed drawings.

Four-year time served telecommunications apprenticeship. Trained in electrical, electronic and ship – shore telecommunications principles, including encryption of signals and serving in an operational naval communications centre.

* Project Manager for the Integrated Train Communications System (ITCS), a train communications system for use on Queensland Railways rolling stock. * Responsible for a £2M budget and Line Manager to a team of one hardware and four software engineers. * Responsible for the timely delivery of sub-contracted hardware through Nemco UK and peripheral equipment through MRX Perth Western Australia to the Customer, Bombardier Transport Australia. * Recovered a four month slippage of work through reallocating work packages on an individual, rather than joint, effort in my first six months in post. * Led my team on a five week deployment to Australia to execute system code and hardware improvements. Metrics of system functionality and reliability generated by the Customer showed six months system developmental improvement was achieved during this time. * First from five previous Project Managers to secure the use of a fully equipped UK test rig from the Australian Customer.

* Project Manager for Synthetic Environments Training Systems for the British Army; Urban Battlefield Trainer 2.0 and Second Generation Recognition Trainer * Responsible for a combined budget of £3 Million. * SMART procurement and exposure to the full CADMID lifecycle. * Responsibility for administering delivery of capability from the two Industry suppliers, Newman and Spurr and CAE respectively. * Deputy PM for the Battlegroup Command and Control Trainer (BC2T), a £20M system delivered into service in August 2004 by Lockheed Martin UK.
