Alex Jowanovitz

Camp counselor and video director specializing in teaching campers how to use video and film equipment in both recreational and professional settings. As a video director, I curated a crew of campers to live record several performances put on by the camp such as plays, concerts, and musicals, teaching them how to use professional-grade camera equipment and video switchers. Also facilitated video equipment shed with other counselors, teaching kids how to make their own films and how to use Adobe Premiere Pro. Later became Video Coordinator where I worked directly with my department head to take charge of day-to-day video operations and coordinating video staff. Additionally helped with editing videos for camp such as camper project compilations and dance films.

I manage the customer service desk with other team members to help meet customer needs such as making returns, answering questions, and bringing online orders to guests. I also train new employees in guest service positons, and work to maintain a good relationship with both the guests and my fellow team members.

Recorded video for panels and discussions at the 2024 Medipreneurs summit. Worked directly with event organizers to capture the best footage possible and collaborated with additonal support team members on troubleshooting technical issues.

On-set production assistant for feature film, helping run and facilitate production and assisting production crew where needed. Ensured set safety by locking down set during filming and looking out for crew member well-being on long filming days. Additionally acted as a runner for transporting materials and actors to and from set, and helped provide meals for above-the-line talent.

Ran on-campus facility where students could rent out film equipment such as lighting equipment, sound recorders, microphones, and cinema cameras. Helped facilitate both the lab and its equipment as well as the various checkouts and reservations students made.

Camera operator and production assistant for various productions, including ESPN collegiate sports broadcasting and PBS local broadcasting. Shows worked on include "Scenic Stops" and "The Great American Recipe."

Managed various store positions including bakery attendant and cashier; trained nearly a dozen store employees in these positions.
