Alex David

Equity Services, Inc. (ESI), a National Life Group company, is led by President & CEO Alex David, who brings more than three decades of senior leadership experience across some of the financial services industry’s most respected institutions. His career has been defined by a consistent focus on growth, advisor advocacy, and organizational excellence. Prior to joining ESI, Alex served as Northeast Division Director at Raymond James Financial Services, where he led the firm’s flagship division—overseeing more than $100 billion in assets under management, nearly 900 wealth managers, and 350 offices across the East Coast. Under his leadership, the division significantly outperformed firm averages, delivering record results including more than $100 million in new production and over $14 billion in new AUM in just 18 months. Previously, Alex was President & CEO of Stifel Independent Advisors, where he led a comprehensive transformation of strategy, recruiting, supervision, and operations. Over a three-year period, the business quadrupled revenue to $60 million and grew assets under management to $10 billion. Earlier in his career, Alex served as Managing Director and Head of U.S. Branch Development, Marketing, and Public Relations at Wells Fargo Advisors. In that role, he oversaw advisor recruiting, business development, and retention across independent channels, during which assets under management expanded from approximately $30 billion to $105 billion. Alex holds a Doctorate in Economics and a Master’s degree in International Economics from Pace University, and a BBA in Finance from Baruch College. He is a graduate of Harvard Kennedy School’s Executive Education program and a participant in the SIFMA Securities Industry Institute at Wharton. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Financial Services Institute and as Chairman of the Board of the Association for African American Financial Advisors (Quad A).
