Aleshia Hayes is an educator, researcher, and developer focusing on emerging technologies (Virtual Reality, Mixed Reality, IoT), Gaming, and Gamification. Aleshia is passionate about implementing, developing, and measuring effective, engaging, and usable educational technologies that simultaneously encourage critical thinking and respect of diverse learners and learning styles. She has worked on large scale educational projects sponsored by NIH, NSF, Department of Defense, and The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Currently, Aleshia is an Assistant Professor of Learning Technology at University of North Texas and the director of SURGE (Simulation, User Research, Game Experience) VR lab where she leads development and testing of technology for learning.
