I developed and optimized an ETL pipeline using Apache Airflow, which automated the data extraction, transformation, and loading processes across various data sources. Leveraging my deep knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP), I implemented several optimizations that reduced cloud resource usage and operational costs by $50,000 annually. This involved optimizing storage, network bandwidth, and compute resource utilization, as well as fine-tuning the execution of tasks within Airflow’s Directed Acyclic Graphs (DAGs) to improve performance and scalability. My contributions significantly enhanced the cost efficiency of the pipeline while maintaining high data processing reliability and accuracy. Additionally, I worked on improving the system’s overall resilience by incorporating fault-tolerant mechanisms and automated monitoring, ensuring seamless operations.

For research in the field of medicine and in search of vaccines and medication for HIV, AIDS, cancer, Covid-19, etc. The project was based entirely on AWS cloud technologies. Designing of serverless architecture. Which involved the pretty woven development of python lambdas connected through API Gateway. Also for more time-consuming operations, ECS and Batch was used to process data with pipelines. Work with DynamoDB, RDS for storage, and S3 + Glacier for large files, Athena for Big Data. Creation of step functions with over 50 layers. Choice of technical stack, code review. Formation of technical specifications. Collaboration with Bioinformatics Engineers. In my master’s degree program in Software Engineering at Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, I deepened my expertise, especially in advanced mathematics. The coursework included intensive study in areas like discrete mathematics, linear algebra, calculus, and probability, which are fundamental to algorithm development and optimization. I also explored complex mathematical modeling, statistics, and data analysis, which enhanced my analytical skills and enabled me to approach software engineering problems with a data-driven mindset. This mathematical foundation has proven invaluable in tackling sophisticated computational challenges and designing efficient, robust software systems.

During my time at Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, I developed a comprehensive skill set that laid the groundwork for my career in Software Engineering.
