About

I am a community-focused professional working at the intersection of immigration, employment, refugee sponsorship, and local systems change. I currently serve as the Local Immigration Partnership (LIP) Coordinator and SAH Program Coordinator at the Cowichan Intercultural Society, where I lead cross-sector collaboration to improve settlement, inclusion, and long-term integration outcomes for newcomers and refugees in the Cowichan Valley. My work involves bringing together municipalities, employers, health partners, service providers, Indigenous representatives, and community organizations to translate lived experience, data, and policy into practical community action. I have extensive experience supporting racialized individuals facing systemic barriers, advocating across institutions, and navigating complex systems including IRCC, Employment Standards, and community funding structures. I am particularly passionate about: Community planning and collective impact Equity-informed and trauma-aware practice Refugee sponsorship and ethical co-sponsorship Workforce access for newcomers and vulnerable workers Building bridges between policy, practice, and people I bring a collaborative, thoughtful, and grounded approach to my work, and I believe meaningful change happens when we listen deeply, share power, and work across silos.
