Trainee Building Surveyor working for a small contractor. Mostly involved in building design and materials purchasing.

Engineering on ordnance. Light electrics, pneumatics, hydraulics, tracking and guidance systems, navaids, magazine safety, small arms maintenance, missile launcher maintenance and a whole lot of scrubbing and chipping and painting.

I offer a 'design and build' service for eco-friendly buildings, using sustainable building methods and materials, and providing a 'fabric first' approach to energy conservation. I much prefer to work in timber frame or SIPs and I design and build with a target of achieving levels of thermal insulation way in excess of those required to comply with the current building regulations, whilst providing my clients with a competetively priced product that therefore saves them money in fuel bills for the lifespan of the building. I also work closely with an excellent 'green technologies' company to provide sustainable heating systems which again have a payback period of around 7 years. I can design to the higher of the Building Codes in line with, and in excess of, Government targets, and my aim is to 'make a difference' in all my projects.

Responsible for taking and developing clients brief, producing prelim sketches, development, planning applications, building regulations submissions, production of tender documentation and working drawings, and project management. Also responsible for any Party wall surveying as may be required for both the Building Owner and the Adjoining Owner.

Owner of Zigurat Design. Responsible for decision making and financial control, diversification and training, target setting and procurement.

Party Wall Surveyor acting for people either carrying out building projects, or affected by their neighbours building projects. Also acting as an 'agreed surveyor' for both parties to keep costs to a minimum. I have established a very good working relationship with several other local Party Wall Surveying practices, and am confident that I can offer a top level service to give clients peace of mind and protect their rights and properties.

Gained an ONC/HNC/ and HND in building studies over five years, studying on a day release basis.
