The Community Police Review Agency is an independent civilian agency with a community-oriented perspective toward police oversight. CPRA investigates community members’ complaints against Oakland Police Department officers to ensure constitutional policing and accountability. Cases involve the use of force, in-custody deaths, officer-involved shootings, racial profiling, discrimination, public assemblies, and untruthfulness. As an investigator, the following duties are required: Conducting impartial, thorough, and timely investigations of complaints against sworn employees of the Oakland Police Department; Writing comprehensive investigative reports with objective findings and discipline recommendations; Interviewing complainants from diverse backgrounds to identify allegations and rule violations; Reviewing and analyzing evidence (i.e. officer body-worn camera, police reports, officer statements, complainant statements, medical records, or surveillance video); Researching and applying rules, laws, and regulations to an investigation.

As a field investigator, I am tasked with developing evidence through in-person interviews, scene canvasses, and other investigative techniques for the purpose of investigating insurance claims for merit. Investigations focus on multi-line insurance claims including auto property, non-auto property damage, bodily injury, worker's compensation, commercial property, homeowner, and renter's insurance claims. Case strategy and planning is conducted collaboratively with clients and other internal claims stakeholders.

Responsible for investigating misdemeanor and felony criminal cases for the defense of persons referred to the Public Defender's Office for legal counsel. As a criminal defense investigator, I work closely with attorney staff in planning and conducting investigations. Tasks entail locating and interviewing witnesses and collecting other information on behalf of the defense. A review of existing evidence is conducted. Detailed note taking is done, and report writing is completed at the request of attorney staff. Photographs and scene diagrams, preparing and serving subpoenas, testifying in court, and database and social media research are also done on a regular basis.

2012 and 2018 GEICO Region 4 (CA, HI, AK) Investigator of the Year. Eleven consecutive years "GEICO Elite" top 5% of all employees (2010-2020). My primary task is to investigate questionable insurance claims for merit through comprehensive in-person or telephonic interviews with first party, third party, independent witnesses, law enforcement and medical professionals. Evidence and witnesses are developed through scene canvases, commercial database inquiries, and other investigative techniques. Report writing is done on a daily basis, including for mandatory Department of Insurance reporting requirements.

I supervised a team of insurance claims generalists handling auto liability, casualty and property damage. Key metrics were achieved through daily coaching and mentorship, diary management and complaint resolution. I was also the process leader for total loss and theft handling at my local branch office. Performance analysis of employee contributions were made to deliver comprehensive feedback, and for salary recommendations. Interview and hiring responsibilities included behavioral interview techniques such as targeted selection.

As a manufacturer’s representative for Nissan North America and the Infiniti luxury brand, I worked with technical and legal departments and dealer franchises to resolve customer product concerns. During my tenure, consumer satisfaction index was increased over multiple consecutive quarters.
