Alain Espinosa
Director Cybersecurity Operations/Sr. Business Information Security Officer @ Upbound Group
About
I thrive in the business-technology continuum, viewing business and technology as interwoven concepts. I excel at strategizing, planning, and coaching people as I move easily between the big picture and the details. People say that I have a unique gift of envisioning things that have not yet happened and, from that, extracting solutions to issues and challenges. People often describe me as a relationship builder, skilled communicator, and facilitator who engages both technical and business stakeholders in reaching a common goal. Currently, I serve as Global Director, Cybersecurity Operations for Upbound Group, formerly known as Rent-A-Center, a $4 billion public retail and financing company. In this role I lead the enterprise security strategy and operations, ensuring the company is vigilant, resilient, and empowered in pursuing business goals. In addition to my corporate roles in information security, I am a Cisco CISO Advisory Board Member, Security Advisor Alliance Advisory Board Member, DallasCISO Advisory Board Founding Member, and Evanta Dallas CISO Governing Board Member. I previously served as a Board Director for InfraGard National Members Alliance (Nonprofit public/private partnership with FBI). I frequently speak at industry meetings and conferences and was recently interviewed about holiday fraud on NBC News.
