For approximately 10 weeks I taught an ESL class two days per week to a group of 7 Jordanian boys, ranging in age from 6 to 13 years old.

* Closely monitoring friendships/matches to ensure there was a continued, successful relationship * Managing club finances * Leading campus outreach and public relations * Organizing chapter involvement in VA/DC Best Buddies events

* Conducted research analysis on four different economically vulnerable U.S. populations, addressing the magnitude of their economic insecurity, relevant federal policies and services currently available to them, and identified potential innovative solutions * Prepared a weekly 250-500 word blog piece on current event topics related to low income workers and families * Compiled relevant news articles for the weekly policy update * Attended relevant Congressional hearings and working group meetings throughout Washington

* Assisted with strategic planning for major research project * Compiled case studies of public-private partnerships and public and private sector initiatives targeting the development-security nexus for the Hybrid World Initiative database, completing a one-page comprehensive write-up for each entry * Conducted a border security gap analysis for Kenyan government officials * Developed content for a micro-website on five different aspects of environmental crime, describing the scope of the current crises and the impact at the international, national, and human security levels of analysis * Assisted with fact-checking and editing content for academic and journalistic pieces * Prepared PowerPoint presentations for conferences * Ghost-wrote speeches to accompany presentations

During the fall semester of my junior year, I traveled to Amman, Jordan to study international affairs, U.S.-Middle Eastern relations, and Arabic language on a much more personal level. Living with a Palestinian-Jordanian host family and taking classes on the University of Jordan's campus enriched my academic and personal understanding of current world affairs, the complex nature of contemporary Middle Eastern society, Arab feminism and changing cultural dynamics, and the Arabic language. I returned to the U.S. with a more dynamic understanding of complex societal and political challenges, and have been able to apply my analytical thinking abilities to all other aspects of my academic and professional career."]
