As an on-site senior systems analyst/security specialist responsibilities include: • Coordinating and/or negotiating with contractors on technical issues and corrective actions necessary for information systems to meet compliance with applicable Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS), National Institute of Standards (NIST), DOE and NNSA directives. • Advising management regarding development of short- and long-range strategies for protection of NNSA classified information systems and network operations. • Conducting security assessments and analyses, surveillance, and surveys of site safeguards and cyber security programs and information system operations. • Managing all aspects of the Enterprise network environment, including design, architecture, availability, reliability, performance, monitoring and security of the network. • Monitoring day-to-day safeguards and security (S&S) and cyber operations of information systems supporting the protection of sensitive classified information. • Performing assessments of contractor cyber security program management systems, practices, and procedures to ensure compliance with DOE and NNSA directives. • Providing recommendations on Information Security program priorities, risk assessment, and impact on specific sites and facilities. • Assessing and recommending technically sound site hierarchy for the network. Supported Defense Solutions Group – Marine Corps Network Operations & Security Center (MCNOSC) • Managed the Marine Corp Enterprise Network (MCEN) ATM switch upgrade project. Coordinated the replacement of Ericsson ATM switches that were approaching the end of life cycle throughout the MCEN at thirty-three Marine Corps bases. Managed resources, documented solutions and developed Information Technology Instructions (ITI) disseminated to all MCEN locations that enabled local operations to perform these upgrades saving the government over a hundred thousand dollars by not deploying installation teams. • Implemented, and maintained procedural and technical methods that enhanced physical protection of MCNOSC classified information systems. • Implemented the MCEN – Navy Marine Corp Intranet (NMCI) untrusted transport boundary cross connection project. Managed the cross connection of eighteen Marine Corps bases to NMCI networks to provide fault tolerant networking. Validated the hardware procurements, coordinated and verified fiber and hardware installation at USMC base facilities and managed workflow processes and resources. • Implemented the MCNOSC FASTLANE encryptor refresh project. FASTLANE encryptors were refreshed at major Marine Corp bases to replace existing KG-75 FASTLANE encryptors that were approaching the end of life cycle. Drafted ITI that addressed the configuration of encryptors, and routers with standardized FASTLANE installation procedures to be used across the MCEN sites. All FASTLANE upgrades were performed successfully and on schedule. • As a member of the MCEN Circuit Management team, communicated with DISA to manage circuit installations, interruptions, and disconnections across the MCEN. Monitored circuit utilization across the MCEN, generated circuit utilization reports using NetScout nGenius Performance Manager to assess and identify critical utilization issues and provide courses of action to the Marine Corps for correction.

• Grew the NNSA SIPRNet Access Network (NSAN) from a small LAN and a user base of 50 to a campus network providing premiere classified computing access to 500 users at HQ NNSA, Forrestal, 955 L’Enfant Plaza, and Germantown facilities. • Growth of the NSAN supported NNSA critical missions in the prevention of the spread of materials, technology, and expertise relating to weapons of mass destruction, detecting the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction worldwide, eliminating inventories of surplus fissile materials usable for nuclear weapons, and providing for international nuclear safety. • Supervised the implementation and integration of a complete Diskless Computing environment for the NSAN eliminating the need for removable classified media, greatly improving the customer operational environment and reducing the environmental footprint of user workstations. Project was completed as scheduled and within budget. • Assessed and inspected classified computing networks to develop Security Test and Evaluation plans, Information System Security Plans and Standard Operating Procedures required to certify and accredit HA NNSA‘s classified networks.
