Badu Collective is a fashion atelier that is inspired to help customers express their own story through the dresses they wear. The word “badu” is a Mandaya word that means “dress”. It is inspired through the resident designer who is a Mandaya himself hailing from the coastal town of Boston, Davao Oriental. His success story helped honed the name of the enterprise and the organization as a whole. The collective offers various services such as customization of gowns and dresses for events. We want to cater our client’s desire to tell their story on how they want to celebrate their special occasions. The boutique also offers hand-painted apparel for ladies which are inspired with stories and other significant history and culture in the Philippines. Our focal point is the Mindanaon culture. Dayaw Kalinaw is the official Philippine Contingent to the 41st Ship for the Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Program (SSEAYP). It is composed of 28 Participating Youth (PY) and a National Leader (NL) chosen by National Youth Commission as the official delegates to the 41st SSEAYP this 2014. SSEAYP stands for Ship for Southeast Asian Youth Programme. As their website states: it started in January 1974 based on Joint Statements issued between Japan and the five ASEAN countries, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand. Other counties that joined are Brunei Darussalam, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, and Cambodia. The aim of SSEAYP is to foster friendship and greater understanding among youths from Japan and ASEAN, seeking to broaden their international outlook. Ship for World Youth Programme is for youth of other countries. As Dy Dara, 27, a member of the program from Cambodia in 2005 says, “SSEAYP offers the opportunity by sharing life together on the ship named Nippon Maru, to study and discuss common problems from a global point of view and engage in various activities onboard the ship and in the six visited countries. The program aims at promoting mutual understanding and friendship, at expanding global perspectives, at fostering the spirit of international cooperation and the will to practice it, and at bringing up young people who will play the leading role in various fields of internationalizing society.”

The Master of Arts in Education major in English program (MAED-ENG) is designed to enhance the pedagogical competence of English teachers and instructors in all levels. The courses are designed mainly to hone the student’s English language skills and are geared towards the development of competence in the various methodological approaches to curriculum development and in teaching of the English language.
