A K Sharma

Born on 11th July, 1962, he belongs to an Agrarian family of eastern UP. His family owns farming land and house in native village: Kajha Khurd, Tehsil-Muhammadabad Gohna, District-Mau. All round First class in academic career, he was also the second topper in MA course in Political Science in Allahabad University. For almost a year, he also worked as lecturer in the same University before joining IAS. Later, he also did foreign study in Master in Public Policy from Canberra University, Australia with Merit and Distinction. He was Secretary in Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises(MSME) from 30th April, 2020 at a time when Covid hit sector had all pervasive problems: closure of units, distress in workers etc. He brought energy and vibrancy in the sector in just a few weeks and stabilized the sector in just eight months before leaving the Government service. Prior to this appointment, he worked in Prime Minister's Office for six years as Additional Secretary and Joint Secretary after Shri Narendra Modi became Prime Minister in 2014. Mr. Sharma had also worked with Narendra Modi as his Secretary during his tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat from 2001 to mid-2014.
