I think in systems. Whether it is a trade, a business, or a piece of technology, I want to understand exactly how it works, where it breaks, and what one variable would change the outcome.That way of thinking cost me before it helped me. I lost three trading accounts learning that being right about the market means nothing if your risk calculation is wrong. I built a lighting company in Dubai that grew for 11 years on word of mouth alone, then had to learn that what got me here would not get me there. I adopted every new technology early, from blockchain to AI, because curiosity without action is just entertainment.Today I run Nakashi Lighting, a design, consultancy, and supply business serving luxury projects across the UAE. I trade long-term positions with the discipline I wish I had at 25. And I build AI systems that automate what used to take me weeks.The through-line in everything I do is clarity. Not motivation. Founded Nakashi in 2012 after spotting a gap in the Dubai lighting market: mass-market fixtures with no design integrity on one end, and European brands with inflated pricing routed through the same factories on the other. Nothing in between for people who wanted real quality without the markup. For 11 years, every client came through word of mouth: IMG Worlds of Adventure MAC Cosmetics Dior Jumeirah Group We work with architects, consultants, cost management consultants, and real estate developers from the earliest project stages. Our design-led approach means lighting is integrated into the project vision from day one, not retrofitted at the end. Today Nakashi operates across two lines: 1. Lighting Design and Consultancy Working with architects, cost consultants, and developers from the earliest project stages to design complete lighting schemes that align with creative vision and budget reality. 2. Premium Lighting Supply Direct sourcing from manufacturers vetted over 13 years. Quality that matches or exceeds European brands. Pricing that reflects honest sourcing, not brand markup. In 2023, after 11 years of organic growth, we made the deliberate decision to build infrastructure for scale. In 2025, we launched our Design and Consultancy arm as a formal second business line in response to consistent client demand.
