Experience
Graduate Engineer
Australia
- Business Development/Strategic Investments team working on Cochlear’s corporate venture capital projects and in-house M&A activities. - Systems Engineering team as the point of contact and owner for a clinician-focussed product feature. - Embedded Software Engineering team, developing firmware (using embedded C and Python) for Bluetooth audio applications. - Customer Software/Mobile Apps team building Cochlear’s Nucleus Smart App for iOS (using Swift, UIKit, SwiftUI, Figma). - Regulatory Affairs team filing Class I medical device documents for EU-MDR submission.
Hardware Engineering Intern
Sydney, New South Wales, Australia
Designed and optimised novel RF circuit topologies through RF PCB layout in Altium, simulation in Ansys HFSS/SIWave and hand soldering 0201 and thin-pitch BGA components. Validated designs with signal generators, spectrum and vector network analysers. Communicated work with Cochlear’s RF experts in Australia, France and Belgium.

Founder
Australia
Leading a hardware engineering advisory service for start-ups, research groups and larger organisations. Technical advisor to multiple start-ups across varied industries (incl. space, agtech, wearables and edge-AI). Collaborated with Main Sequence Ventures to give founders advice on designing hardware to overcome supply chain problems.

BRITELab Research Engineer
Perth, Western Australia, Australia
Designed CAD models and 3D printed sterilisable medical hardware prototypes used to evaluate OncoRes' 'MEprobe' for intraoperative assessment of tumour margins in breast cancer surgery. Simultaneously led the hardware development of a handheld probe using a novel method of optical palpation (CAD, PCB design and manufacture). OncoRes is funded by the Medical Research Commercialisation Fund and collaborates with leading researchers at the University of Western Australia, the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research and breast cancer surgeons and pathologists from the Western Australian Department of Health.

Research Engineer
Australia
Worked alongside distinguished professors, researchers and PhD students in the asset health management field, developing failure-mode diagnostics and prognostics through cutting-edge, networked sensing solutions, machine learning and big data analytics. Led the full hardware/software development of the system used to measure the effect of long-term, open air UV radiation on 3D printed plastics using internet-connected, ruggedised sensor arrays.

Hardware Engineer
Led hardware architecture, defined/communicated requirements and constraints directly with the CEO/CTO, external product development partners. Successfully manufactured the first AFE hardware prototype, compiled technical documentation and recruited/managed engineering staff.

Brain-Machine Interface Engineer
Australia
Led the design of Brain-Machine Interface Hardware - developing the analog/digital electronics, circuit simulations, firmware, flexible/rigid PCBs (Altium Designer) and working on consumer-level, wearable product design. HUMM was a VC backed startup, building a headset that measures and stimulates mental performance in eSports athletes.

Vacation Scholar - Solar Thermal Systems
Newcastle, Australia
Led a project in CSIRO's Energy (Solar - CSP) team focussed on making the commissioning, testing and calibration of large-scale heliostats (mirrors used to track and reflect sunlight) in solar thermal power plants more accessible for solar engineers and technicians to operate. Developed hardware and software for a single board computer and other associated peripherals for a field-based, mobile handheld device. Manufactured PCBs using Altium Designer which allowed for communication with onboard heliostat controllers using proprietary CSIRO protocols through a command-line interface.

Electrical Engineering Intern
Australia
Winter Intern at the consumer hardware company specialising in securing and charging mobile devices with other offices in US, Asia and Europe. Developed a technical review for the implementation of a Samsung ARTIK IoT platform in a multidisciplinary engineering team.
Education

Electrical/Electronics Engineering and Finance
Bachelor of Science (BSc) with a double major in Finance and Engineering Science (Electrical/Electronics Engineering) - Assured Pathway to Masters of Professional Engineering (MPE) through the Engineering Pursuit Scholarship.
