Worked under the tooling engineering team at Zume's molded pulp manufacturing facility, which produces non-plastic, fully-compostable, PFAS-free food and beverage packaging. 3D Printing of Molded Pulp Forming Tools: - Developed a molded pulp "torture test" used to characterized the limitations of 3D printed molded pulp tooling, such as minimum draft angle, detail size, and fillet radius Material Analysis of Molded Pulp: - Conducted FEA in SOLIDWORKS to optimize strength of molded pulp packaging before manufacturing Production Tooling Design: - Designed CNC-machined metal press tools for forming molded pulp products in SOLIDWORKS - Created technical drawings of tools for manufacturers with GD&T
