In my current role as a Fire Protection Engineer (Consultant), I provide oversight and technical guidance on fire protection systems across power generation plants in the western region. I am responsible for monitoring contractors’ work inside the plants, reviewing inspection, testing, and maintenance (ITM) plans, and ensuring alignment with NFPA codes and SAF industrial regulations. I regularly attend weekly coordination meetings with plant operations teams to assess system status and readiness. Additionally, I contribute to the development of fire scenarios in collaboration with safety, engineering, and operations departments, and assist in fire risk assessments to help identify system vulnerabilities and suggest improvements. This consulting position has enhanced my analytical thinking, system-level perspective, and ability to align fire protection strategies with complex industrial operations.

Prepared inspection and testing reports for 194 fire protection systems in a major power generation facility, covering system condition, functionality, and compliance. Performed routine checks and maintenance on firefighting equipment, including extinguishers, hoses, and pumps, to ensure operational readiness. Verified the functionality of alarms, hydrants, sprinklers, and standpipes across the facility. Collaborated with site engineers and safety teams to ensure compliance with NFPA and SAF standards. Contributed as part of the fire risk assessment team during periodic site evaluations. Coordinated with maintenance teams to resolve deficiencies and implement preventive measures.

This role marked my transition into the fire protection field, where I took on the responsibility of managing fire safety systems across power generation plants in the western region. My responsibilities included coordinating directly with the Saudi Electricity Company to assess system needs, deploying inspection and testing teams, and ensuring all activities aligned with NFPA and SAF standards. I gained practical experience in the testing procedures of various fire protection systems and was responsible for preparing detailed technical reports based on compliance findings. In addition to handling system issues and proposing effective solutions, I also supported the installation of emergency equipment such as eye wash protection units. This role gave me deep exposure to plant operations, fire safety protocols, and multidisciplinary coordination—setting a solid foundation for my work in consulting and advanced system evaluations.

I worked as a mechanical engineer overseeing plumbing installations for a large-scale public park project. My role involved supervising the installation of sewage pipelines, restroom fixtures, and external connections in coordination with the National Water Company. I was responsible for reviewing shop drawings, verifying design compliance, and ensuring installation met project specifications. I also coordinated with the consulting office to obtain approvals for materials and execution. Additionally, I handled pressure testing for internal piping systems to ensure leak-free installations and oversaw the construction of manholes and underground utilities. This role sharpened my technical coordination skills and deepened my experience in working with consultants, suppliers, and government stakeholders—skills that I now apply in more specialized fire protection engineering environments.

During my time at Al-Emar Gate Contracting Company, I was involved in two major infrastructure projects: a sewage lift station construction and a wastewater treatment facility maintenance program. In the first project, I worked on-site as a mechanical engineer and also took on the role of a safety inspector. I reviewed technical drawings, supervised daily work progress, coordinated with subcontractors and the client, and ensured proper implementation of safety plans. I also conducted pressure testing of pipelines and monitored the installation of air and washout chambers. In the second project, I transitioned into a maintenance role, where I developed preventive maintenance schedules for mechanical equipment like pumps and blowers, managed spare part readiness, and coordinated with the maintenance team to resolve system issues. This experience helped me build a strong foundation in field supervision, technical documentation, safety compliance, and mechanical system maintenance—all of which continue to support my growth as a fire protection engineer today.

In trainee, I learned about aircrafts, and what the engineer's job there, and how to check the engine of the aircrafts.

I guided the pilgrims to get in/out the train safety and quickly without any damage or separate between the families.
