Most leaders come from either the field or the boardroom. I came from both. 17 years ago I started as an irrigation engineer in Egypt— installing pipes , designing networks, working under the sun. Today I lead multi-million QAR operations portfolios across some of Qatar’s most prestigious projects. The journey from engineer to Director of Operations didn’t happen through titles — it happened through deliberately building two things simultaneously: 1)Deep technical expertise in landscape, irrigation, and facilities management 2)Business fluency through an MBA, PMP, and RMP. That combination is rare. And it changes how you see every problem. I see operations through numbers. I see people through leadership. I see the future through AI. Here I share what I’ve learned — in English and Arabic — so others can build their own bridge between the field and the boardroom.
