As Sr. Director of Engineering I lead 150+ managers and indirect reports for Nubank, the highest valued ($45B+) digital bank in the world. Partnering with the Engineering Team, other Product teams and People & Culture I'm responsible for the technology strategy and execution of the Operational Platforms Business Unit, delivering our credit and debit authorization services, digital wallets (apple and google pay), card manufacturing and courier capabilities, inter bank integrations like PIX, TED and Boletos, a banking as a service credit platform and all back office and support systems and machine learning models. As part of the work of our CTO's office I also lead hiring, on-boarding, diversity & inclusion, learning & development, performance and compensation management, and operational processes. In 2019 we grew the team by 220% (300+ engineers hired) by structuring a Tech Manager hiring pipeline and process and scaling teams while balancing sustainable growth and keeping us diverse. In 2021 I lead our technology platforms working group. Nubank has been named the #1 top Startup in Brazil by LinkedIn, and no. 3 for Latin America on Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies. We are process-light and value working in small, independent teams that feel like small startups.
