Advait Pote

I am Advait Pote, a recent Mechanical Engineering graduate from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay with a minor in Computer Science and Engineering. I have always been academically inclined and along with exceptional results in my CBSE 10th and HSC 12th exams, I put in sufficient hard work to get into the gates of my dream university, IIT Bombay - one of India's premier institutions. I started off in Aerospace Engineering through JEE but ensured a branch change to Mechanical Engineering on merit while appearing for my second year, with a CPI of 8.5+. This has eventually led me to develop a passion for technology and programming, exploring various interests varying from full-stack development to AI and ML, and even into the realm of cryptocurrencies, of which Bitcoin is perhaps the most notable, given its incredible potential to change the face of finance. I had the privilege of being a developer for SymPy in the Google Summer of Code in 2022. I was able to build practical solutions implementing Civil Engineering structures in the library allowing Engineers to solve real-life problems in their field. A desire to teach and share what was known motivated my return in 2023 and 2024 as a mentor in the Google Summer of Code, guiding students in the module of Continuum Mechanics. Not only was it refining coding capabilities, but also boosted appreciation for cooperative problem-solving and open-source contributions. I remain focused on blockchain technology, decentralized finance, and the future of cryptocurrencies, which is nice because I love to innovate in such dynamic and ever-changing fields. I am excited to see what the future of World Finance holds with the rise of decentralized and deflationary currencies in recent times.
