During my time at Metro State I focused on Community Psychology and the importance of how service work can strengthen connectedness to your community. As a volunteer at the First Lutheran Church I prepared and served dinner to low income and homeless individuals and families. This experience connected me with people of all walks of life, giving me a unique perspective on homelessness. One highlight of my college career was the time I spent in Guatemala, the research conducted on this trip was presented at a conference at Wisconsin University. My internship was completed at a Domestic Violence shelter where I performed the duties of an advocate.
