About

Since I was a teenager, I knew I wanted to work with children in the healthcare setting. This led me on a journey to become a child life specialist spanning six hospitals, five years of learning, four years of schooling, three practicums, two volunteer positions and one child life internship. I have always described myself as motivated, creative, flexible and quick on my feet. These skills and more are put into practice with each child and family I meet, assessing their needs and how to support their hospital experience. In my current position as a child life specialist in a surgery center I am challenged daily to promote patient and family-centered care in a fast-paced and stressful environment while utilizing child life assessment and interventions to support positive coping. I feel grateful and privileged to be a part of any childs journey.

I am presently a Graduate student at Towson University pursuing my Masters of Child Life, Administration and Professional-Collaboration with a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Autism Studies. Through in-class lectures and out-of-class real world applications of child life themes and theories, I am developing an understanding of what my role in the field of Child Life will be. I am passionate about Child Life and can see a direct connection between my class work and what it will be like to be a practicing Child Life Specialist. I am a member of Towson University's Child Life Club. Activities and Societies: Child Life Club
